About the Program

Schmitz is a perfect place to have an outdoor after school exploration & adventure.  Schmitz Park has everything we need to learn about the plants and animals, play awareness games and use nature to calm our nervous system.  Skills we learn in the field will be applicable to home and school as your child acquires tools for listening, focusing, and having a relationship with science and place through intuition a sensory intelligence. About your instructor: I am also very happy to have a second group that will go with Saucy, an experienced instructor with a rich background in "Nature Connection Education" and Survival Skills & Crafts as well! The kids love Saucy. Saucy is a trained in Coyote Mentoring!

History : South Sound Nature School has been running after school nature programs at Genesee Hill for 5 years. I took the program over from Wilderness Awareness School so we are at 19 years of running nature programs in your neighborhood.

The nature program will meet on Thursdays at 2:30-4:30.  New  session dates  are TBA. Please sign up below or  submit your email and contact information and I will put you child on the roster.  Grades 1-5 Kindergartners in the Spring.

Kids will meet instructors Saucy at the corner of 50th Ave SW & SW Dakota St. then walk to Schmitz Park, pick up at Old Schmitz Park School.

South Sound Nature School is a local, very small non profit that is currently running after school nature programs at Pathfinder, Arbor Hieghts & Fairmount Park Elementary Schools.
