Pigeon Point Park is a perfect place to have an outdoor after school exploration & adventure. Pigeon Point Park right behind school has everything we need to learn about the plants and animals, play awareness games and use nature to calm our nervous system.  Skills we learn in the field will be applicable to home and school as your child acquires tools for listening, focusing, and having a relationship with science and place through intuition (sensory) intelligence.

Testimonial : My son loves and looks forward to his time with Porcupine in Schmitz park every week.  I can see that over the years he has attended this program he has gained self-confidence, has learned to work with others and also so much knowledge about the natural world.  Porcupine teaches the kids to be independent, confident and aware of their surroundings and also the importance of stewardship of the forest.  It's truly an amazing program!  As an added bonus, I now get to take him on hikes and marvel as he excitedly shares his knowledge with me!  I look forward to enrolling his little brother as well. About our teacher: I am also very happy to have introduce you to Saucy, an experienced instructor with a rich background in "Nature Connection Education" and Survival Skills & Crafts as well! The kids love Saucy.

South Sound Nature School is a local, very small 501(c)(3) that is currently running after school programs at Schmitz Park, Arbor Hieghts & Fairmount Park Elementary Schools.
