East Cascades Birding Field Class
Eastern Cascades
Birding Field Class
June 11th, 12th & 13th for 3 days Max 6-8 Participants
Unique Birds in Leavenworth & Wenatchee!
Birding is a fascinating recreational activity and you will learn to talk about what birds you are hearing & seeing in Leavenworth & Wenatchee. These very different ecosystems consisting of forest, mountain and wetland habitats which leads to a great bird diversity.
We will meet at Snoqualmie Pass and caravan down to Cle Elum stopping a few birding spots before we get to Wanatchee. We will be traveling together and be in communication the whole time and you will be responsible for your own 2 nights in Wenatchee plus food (Barbara & I can share where we will stay). There will be breaks for food except the first day where we ask you to pack a lunch. We basically do two/three programs the first day, three programs the second day and one the last day. We do a fair bit of walking mostly on flat easy surfaces. The second day in the morning we get into a really cool canyon teaming with bird life. It is uphill but the trail is good.
Binoculars are recommended but not required. These small classes will be geared towards adults. You can pay in check or cash but you must register and can email me at omalley23@gmail.com. Maximum 6/8 participants. Barbara is a professional and a volunteer so you basically get two guides for the price of one.

“Our excellent guides, Kevin and Barbara knew enough to wait, and soon we would see that most of the places are teeming with birdlife. Between the two of them, our guides knew a ton about bird customs, flight, and calls and both were nimble with a scope, locking in unforgettable close-ups that allowed us to see avian colors in detail. This was a great trip, highly recommended for a taste of the exotic, not very far from home.” Joan Larcom Participant
