Lets face it kids are not getting outside enough! If you think you r child is ready for an awesome experience in nature once per month please come join us.
This program will be fun, engaging and adventurous. Playing games, hiking through the park and playing fun awareness games with other friends with a real interest in the outdoors. The day will be spent outside so the kids will bring a lunch in their over the shoulder backpack and be dressed for the weather . There are shelters and bathrooms in the park and we will use them when needed.
Normal Risky Outdoor Play
Necessary risky play helps kids develop social skills make quick judgement and find creative solutions to problems. Children need to learn how to manage risks on their own and as an instructor I step back letting students trust in themselves. This allows the child to have new and unique emotional responses of excitement, joy and enjoyment. Research shows students can be "to safe" which leads to a sedentary life with higher chances of developing anxiety and phobias. SSNS encourages girls that they are equal to their boy counterparts and get to experience the social and physical benefits that come with participating in risky play. We provide an engaging environment in risky play that is as safe as necessary rather than as safe as possible.
This program will be held at Seahurst Park in Burien one Saturday per month from September 2020-May 2020. Fall Dates are listed below. 9 child limit these spots will go fast! Fall/Spring Sept-May Winter Spring dates out in November. Cost of the program will be $425 (include all 9 days 4 hours per day).
